The Departments of Computer Applications organized a webinar on “Data Science and its Applications and Data Security” on Aug 25, 2021 and Aug 26, 2021. The Resource Person of the day was Mrs. Renuka Devi.D , Research Scholar, Stella Maris College, Chennai.The session helps the students to know about Data Science and its Application and Data Security. She explained Day 1 about Data Science applications how they used in AI and machine Learning. In Day 2 She explained the Data Security and its key benefits in Reduced risk of data loss, Breach and data theft prevention, Improved privilege allocation and user governance, Reduced risk of data loss and noncompliance.Around 110 students participated and gained knowledge about Data Science and Data Security.

Online Competitions: Independence Day - 2021
On account of the 75th Independence Day, it has been decided to organize competitions and activities for all the classes and the responsibility was also given to the students itself in order to improve their leadership qualities and to enlighten the spirit of freedom and independence in the young minds. Based on this the following competitions were conducted by the students of II BCA – B on 25th August 2021 during 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm
ONLINE RIDDLE COMPETITION
It is an online quiz competition organized by Ms.V.Sharmila. Questions related to Independence Day were chosen and a riddle was designed. Nearly twelve students from this class participated in the riddle.
Integrate India Connections
The Students of III BCA, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women has prepared a Picture Connections for their class. The main motto of the activity is to promote team building and patriotism among the students on the 75 th Independence Day Celebrations. The activity was conducted through Online in a G Meet Platform on 28th August, 2021.
Around 28 Students from III BCA participated in the event.The PILL group leaders of each group prepared a connection slide related to freedom fighters and freedom struggle without disclosing even to their teammates and other PILL Group leaders.
The activity game was hosted by Shreen Jabeen and the questions were gathered by Sumaiya Fathima from the leaders and finally Nithyashree helped in allotting marks with timer.
The questions were shuffled among the groups and given a chance to answer in 3 minutes. Then it is forwarded to the other groups who raise hands in G Meet first.
At the end of the activity to encourage the students who had participated in Rashtra Gaan - National Anthem Singing, their certificates were displayed as a presentation by the Class In--Charge S.Poornima.
The students learnt the freedom fighters name and identified the connections in an energetic manner.

E-Career Training Programme
The Department of Computer Applications, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women organised an E-Career Training Programme on “Interview & Communication Skills” on February 6, 2021. The resource persons of the workshop were Mr. Mohammed Qasim Abbas & Ms. Shikha Goel, Rise Up India.The resource person focused on the Interview etiquettes, dress code, attitude, SWOT analysis, Resume Preparation, How to face HR rounds, tips to prepare for Aptitude, Telephonic Interviews, Psychometric Analysis, Group Discussion do’s and don'ts, online courses to enhance skills and importance of skill development in getting jobs post-pandemic. Around 60 students from the Department of Computer Applications participated in this Training Programme.
International Virtual Symposium
The Departments of Computer Applications organized an International
Virtual Symposium on “IT Systems in Healthcare” on February 26, 2021. The
Resource Persons of the day was Dr. Marcus Taylor, MBChB, MRCS, MSc, Clinical
Research Fellow in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Northwest Deanery, UK and Dr. V.
Prasannakumari, Professor, Department of Information Technology, Rajalakshmi
Engineering College, Chennai. This session helped students to understand the new and
emerging technologies that have transformed healthcare in recent years and how health
information systems have helped improve the quality of life of people in all
sectors of our society. This session also gave tips to students to know how it
is inevitable to adhere to this dizzying technological career. Around 15
colleges from different parts of Chennai participated in this event.

E-Quiz - International Internet Day
The Department of Computer Applications, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth college for Women organised the E-Quiz in celebrating International Internet Day on October 29,2020. The E-Quiz was structured in a way to make aware and spread the unknown things about the Internet. It was designed in such a manner to make the participants more involved and gained knowledge after attending it.The E-Quiz was opened from 29/10/2020 to 01/11/2020 to provide the participants with leisure time and considering the Internet Data available to the students.The E-Quiz contains 20 Questions with 50 marks.Around 577 Participants from Various Institution Faculty & Students Participated in this E-Quiz. The E-Certificate was provided to the registered participants who score above 40%. Around 484 faculty & students have secured more than 40% and the e-certificates have been promptly sent to their registered e-mail ids.We honestly thank the references to the videos & Images used for the quiz.Reference-Google Youtube Channel,code.org,wns global services,google images.We are Happy to see the Feedback received from the participants are very energetic and enthusiastic.

Webinar on “IOT and IIOT – Present and Future Perspectives”
The Departments of Computer Applications organized a webinar on “IOT and IIOT – Present and Future Perspectives” on Sep 10, 2020. The Resource Person of the day was Dr.M.Ramesh Kumar, HOD and Assistant Professor, Nandanam Arts College, Chennai. The Resource person gave a deep insight about IOT and IIOT Technologies. He explained in the simplest terms, that how the Internet of Things (IoT) is digitally connected of everyday physical devices and how these devices are embedded with internet connectivity, sensors and other hardware that allow communication. He also explained about the various applications of IOT in various fields. The session was very helpful to students to know about IOT and IIOT Technologies in deep. Around 80 students participated and gained knowledge about this topic.
Workshop on “Basics of Python”
A One day workshop on “Basics of Python” has been conducted on Sep 14, 2020 by the Department of Computer Applications. The main objective of the training programme was to give hands on online training to students on the basic programming concepts in the python programming language. The Resource Person of the day was Dr.K.B.Priya Iyer, Additional Controller of Examinations and Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women, Chennai. She shared her expertise in the python programming language and gave some informative examples.Participants took keen interest in practical work to acquire hands-on experience in the Python programming language. Around 70 students participated and they were provided with e-certificate.
