Event: 75th Republic Day Celebrations

Date: 26/01/2024

Details of Participants: Faculty & Students of Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women.

 

Objective: To commemorate the 75th Republic Day and foster a sense of national pride, unity, and awareness among the college community through an engaging and educational program that includes flag hoisting, cultural performances, and discussions on the significance of the Indian Constitution.

 

About the Event: Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, Perambur, Chennai celebrated the 75th Republic day with the theme “INDIA -  THE MOTHER OF DEMOCRACY - Nari Shakthi (Women Power)”  on January 26 2024.

 

The Principal Dr. S.Sridevi hoisted the National flag and delivered the Republic Day address on emphasizing the importance of women’s equality in the contemporary world. Women are becoming the supreme power of the nation in the knowledge economy. They are balancing their societal well being in all the aspects of her will power in both the career growth and family. She also motivated students to come up with more ideas and innovations irrespective of the domain, the solutions to the problems must address the problems prevailing in society, she also highlighted that college will support such students and their ideas in getting patents.

 

The students from the Department of Computer Applications participated in various events celebrating the Women Power with a Patriotic Classical Dance, Speech in Tamil, English and Hindi, Solo Singing, Semi Classical Dance, Group Singing, Silambam, Western Solo Dance as an Tribute to Women Soldiers, MIME depicting the “Life History of the Ambedkar” and Group Dance.

 

Outcome: Students projected their talents with the theme “INDIA -  THE MOTHER OF DEMOCRACY - Nari Shakthi (Women Power)”. This enabled the students to learn the constitutional principles and cultural diversity of India in an experiential manner through their enthusiastic performances.
