Objectives

• To facilitate the application of the fundamentals of computer science by the students to solve software-oriented computing problems.
• To help students develop oral and written communication skills.
• To teach computer science concepts using contemporary industry computing tools and adhering to industry standards.

The Department of Computer Applications was started in July 2008. The sanctioned strength is fifty as allotted by the University of Madras. The department assures to expose students to the latest technical knowledge in the IT field and it arranges several Guest Lectures, Seminars, Conference and conducts various competitions which gives enough opportunities to the students that they may keep in time with the ever growing IT field.

The Department Magazine “PC BYTES” which showcases the inherent talents of the dedicated staffs and enthusiastic students of the department.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INNOVATIVE COMPUTING TECHNOLOGIES-2013

The Department of Computer Applications and Department of Computer Science hosted a National Conference on 11.1.2013 on the completion of 25 years of B.Sc.,Computer Science, which was held at Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College For Women, Chennai-11.
