Teacher’s Day Celebration

             An Online Teacher’s Day celebration was conducted by our BCA students on 5^th September 2020. During this Virtual celebration teachers played Founder’s Day anniversary memorial tribute video to remember our late founder Dr.Mrs.Elizabeth Thomas with Gratitude. Even in this time of pandemic, students prepared a speech, dance and song at home, which were performed online. The students took great effort and ensured that teachers enjoy every minute. The teachers were overwhelmed with the effort of each and every student. The efforts of students were appreciated by teachers thus making the event a grand success.

Carrier Guidance Programme

The Department of Sciences organized a Career Guidance  Programme for the students of Sciences on 03, March 2020. Dr .Jaya prakash Gandhi, Career Consultant and Analyst, Chennai was the Resource person. He motivated  students to undertake Intradisciplenery courses.He focused on the current needs in areas like AI in health care, sensor fusion, robotic process automation & python, digital marketing, machine learning, deep learning and data analytics in health care. He also encouraged students to learn Japanese language.

AITHON 2020

The Departments of Computer Science & Computer Applications, Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth College for Women conducted AITHON 2020 a 'ONE DAY WORKSHOP' on 'ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE USING PYTHON & ML' on 29-02-2020 in association with Foursteps Training Solutions (Record Breaking Team). This workshop is a tribute to Dr. APJ. Abdul Kalam Vision 2020. The motto is to train 1 lakh participants in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning using Python throughout this year.

As a part of the vision AITHON2020 workshop was organized in Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, Sembium, Perambur, Chennai-11 and it was inaugurated by the Honorable Principal Dr. HanifaGhosh, Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, Mr. J Saravanan, CEO & Mr.Deepan Raj, Trainer, Foursteps Solutions Private Ltd. Around 350 participants attended the workshop and they have gained knowledge on working with Python for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Report on Seminar held on February 20, 2020.

The Departments of Computer Applications organized a Seminar on “Internet of Things” on January 22, 2020. The Resource Person of the day was Dr.C.V.Sureshbabu, Professor and Head, Department of IT at Hindustan University, Chennai. He gave an excellent coverage on Social Networking.
Nearly 200 students attended the Seminar.

The Departments of Computer Applications organized a  Seminar on “Internet of Things” on January 22, 2020. The Resource Person of the day was Dr. Shanthini, Professor and Head, Department of IT at St.Peter's University, Chennai, She gave an excellent coverage on Internet of Things and gave examples of objects that can fall into the scope of Internet of Things include connected security systems, thermostats, cars, electronic appliances, lights in household and commercial environments, alarm clocks, speaker systems, vending machines and more. Nearly 200 students attended the Seminar.

 

WORKSHOP ON R PROGRAMMING

The Department of Computer Applications, Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth College for Women conducted "Workshop on R Programming" on December, 3 2019 by Dr. K.B. Priya Iyer, MCA, Ph.D., Assistant Controller of Examinations & Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women, Chennai.  The advanced learners from Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Computer Applications were the participants.

Students had hands-on experience on the session. The students were involved in working with R Tool installed to their Individual systems. At the end of the session they gave a positive feedback.

 The certificates were distributed by Mrs. Rajalakshmi, Head, Depart,emt of Commerce & Dean of Academics, CTTE College for Women and by the Resource Person Dr. K.B. Priya Iyer. The workshop was conducted as two sessions.

The Session 1 was enriched by concepts such as

·         How to use R?

·         Different Syntax of R

·         Writing R Script

·         Executing set of instructions using conditional statements and looping

·         Built-in functions and Customized functions.

The Sessions 2 was enlightened by concepts of

·         Statistics and R,

·         Data mining and R.

At the end of the day the students had a fruitful session which helps them to initiate their interest in R Programming, a need of the hour Statistical Tool nowadays.
