Institutional Social Responsibility

Institutional Social Responsibility / Community Outreach Programme

International Youth Day is an awareness day designated by the United Nations that takes place on August 12, 2024. The purpose of the day is to draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding youth. As a part of Institutional Social Responsibility, the Department of Computer Applications in association with Nava Jeevan Trust organized an “Awareness Speech on Tobacco Control” at Bosco Academy, Madhavaram on the account of International Youth Day 2024. The speech was delivered by Mrs. Sangeetha of Nava Jeevan Trust highlighting the severe health risks associated with the use of tobacco directly or indirectly. It emphasized the importance of quitting tobacco to improve quality of life and encouraged preventive measures, particularly among youth, to combat addiction and reduce the societal impact of tobacco-related illnesses.

As a part of an outreach program on International Youth Day 2024 with the theme “Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development” various competitions were conducted to the students of Bosco Academy and KRM Public School by the Department of Computer Applications in association with Nava Jeevan Trust and VR1 Publications to engage and empower young people. Activities included Speech, Connections and Think & Share were conducted to inspire leadership, creativity, and social awareness in the field of technology. The events fostered a sense of community and highlighted the potential of youth as future leaders.
